Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting

Follow these step-by-step checks to resolve signal drops and connection timeouts:

  • Power cycle hardware: Unplug power cables of your modem and router for 30 seconds, then reconnect.
  • Switch Wi-Fi channels: Log into admin interface and change 2.4GHz channel to 1, 6 or 11 to bypass interference.
  • Update wireless drivers: Ensure your PC's network card drivers are updated to the latest standard.
  • Optimize positioning: Keep the router elevated and at least 3 feet away from appliances like microwaves.

Connected, but no internet

Perform these diagnostic checks to restore internet connectivity:

  • Check WAN status lights: Ensure the Internet LED indicator is steady blue/white. Blinking orange indicates no ISP signal.
  • Flush local DNS cache: Open command terminal as administrator and run ipconfig /flushdns.
  • Inspect physical WAN links: Unplug and firmly re-seat the Ethernet cable connecting modem's LAN port to router's WAN port.
  • Renew IP Lease: Disconnect from WiFi, turn off router, reboot modem, then start router back up after 2 minutes.

Can't open the router login page

Apply these steps to access your local router gateway dashboard:

  • Confirm active connection: Ensure your PC is connected directly to your router's wireless name or wired LAN ports.
  • Use direct gateway IPs: Type http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 in browser URL instead of search.
  • Disable VPN & proxy clients: Active corporate or personal VPN connections block access to local subnets.
  • Open Incognito browser: Bypass corrupt cookies by logging in via a private window.

Slow Wi-Fi or weak signal

Maximize your local bandwidth speed using these settings:

  • Select 5GHz SSID: Always use the 5GHz frequency band for high speed close to device. Use 2.4GHz for distance.
  • Disconnect idle clients: Turn off older smart devices running heavy background syncs.
  • Position centrally: Move the router out of cabinets and place it high up in a central room.
  • Verify direct ISP speeds: Connect a PC via Ethernet to the modem to confirm if speed drops originate from your ISP.

Extender won't connect

Restore client handshake links with your extender:

  • Pair in same room first: Plug the booster within 5 feet of the main router for initial WPS handshakes.
  • Verify security keys: Re-enter your wireless router password exactly, passwords are case-sensitive.
  • Run manual web wizard: Connect your mobile directly to the default booster network and setup settings manually.
  • Update booster firmware: Prevent hardware loop drops by flashing the device firmware.

Forgot or need to change a password

Recover or adjust your router Wi-Fi security keys:

  • Check product default sticker: Look at the sticker on the bottom/back of the device for default settings.
  • Perform factory reset: Push a paperclip into the physical Reset pinhole for 10 seconds to restore factory login state.
  • Change password in admin: Under wireless settings, configure new keys with WPA2-Personal security protocols.
  • Clear saved cache entries: Remove old saved network profiles in your PC/Mobile settings.
