Multi-Port Ethernet Switch Guide

Set up local wired networks, map LAN port links, and configure Gigabit transmission lines.
An Ethernet switch expands the number of wired ports on your router network. Switches are plug-and-play but require correct cabling to avoid network loops.
1

Establish Uplink Connection

Connect an Ethernet cable from one of your main router's LAN ports to any available port on the switch.

2

Connect Wired Clients

Plug your computers, gaming consoles, smart TVs, or network storage directly into the remaining ports on the switch.

3

Verify Port Speed LEDs

Check the lights on the switch ports. A green light usually indicates a 1Gbps (Gigabit) link speed, while amber indicates 100Mbps speed.

4

Avoid Loop Broadcast Storms

Never connect two Ethernet cables between the same switch and router, as this will crash the network.

5

Power Cycle Switch

If wired clients lose connection, unplug the switch's DC power cable for 10 seconds to flush the MAC address table.
